Community Helpers and the Firetruck
What an exciting week for Montessori Academy! This weeks summer theme was all about community helpers. In Transition class 1-2 we talked about firemen, police officers, garbage men, teachers and dentists! We discussed all the different types of teachers there are including preschool, music and art. We learned about dentists and had one of our classmates sister come in and talk about her braces and how she takes care of her teeth. We all practiced brushing out teeth and learning why it is so important to have a healthy mouth. On Thursday we made garbage trucks using cut out shapes of rectangles, squares and circles. Fun Friday was very busy! We met firemen, learned all about firetrucks and we were given hats. We also read three books about being a firefighter and what that means. We know that they have a very important job.
Next week is Music of the Decades. We have moved splash day to TUESDAY and we will be tie-dying shirts on Wednesday. Please bring a white shirt (or a white piece of clothing, dress, shorts, skirt etc..) that you would liked dyed. Also, please dress the children in clothing that can get dirty.
As always, thank you for your support and encouragment.
