Easter Fun and Space Exploration

| March 30, 2016

We ended last week with Easter celebrations including an Egg Hunt on our playground on Friday. My goal was to hide the eggs so well that when the children emerged from the classroom they saw nothing but an empty playground. The other teachers teased me, but my brainiac kids had no trouble rooting out every egg, some even realizing which ones had candy and which ones had only stickers. Needless to say, since they could only find five eggs a piece, poor Children’s House 2-1 got more than their fair share of stickers.

Candy makes a noise when you shake it!

Of course, no Easter celebration would be complete without creating some beautifully painted eggs. A task we all did well. We were very proud of the final result. IMG_2164 IMG_2162 IMG_2161 IMG_2160 IMG_2171

Then starting on Monday we began our lesson on space exploration. First step… set up our new Space Museum!

Each day we’ve read library books and even some reference books that our friend Samuel brought in. We’re excited to learn all we can about outer space. We’ve also begun making rockets. One large group project rocket and then some smaller individual ones.

We know it doesn’t look like much now, but just wait until you see them dangling from our ceiling in a few days!

Here’s a few fun pictures from the week.
