Opposites and Rhymes

| February 3, 2016

This week at Montessori Academy of Carrboro in CH 1-2 we are focusing on counting to thirty and remembering the order of numbers! For example 1,2, 12 and 21 and being able to count and recognize them. We are also learning about opposites and rhyming words. Counting to thirty has been aelsa morning circle activity that has proven to be a fun game as we shout out the numbers in unison.

Opposites have also gone over extremely well. This concept has been a lot easier to grasp than that of rhyming words. So, in order to enhance their understanding, we will read rhyming books and work with picture matching.

This weeks Black History Month VIP or BHM VIP is President Obama. We are learning about his job, house, family and hobbies. For Fun Friday we will focus on the Gullah culture and music.

We are looking forward to another wonderful week. Thank you!
