Rocks Rock!
As it turns out, lessons on volcanoes and earthquakes lead naturally into discussions about geology. This week we “rocked” it out with a fascinating study of all the different rock formations that come from our earth’s crust.
Some friends brought rocks in that we washed and put on display. Other rocks we used for art projects, like rock painting and colored sand art.
Best of all, we got to see part of Ms Maddy’s dad’s amazing rock collection and read lots of great books on the subject in the Geology Museum we set up in the classroom.
Last, but certainly not least, we celebrated Lea’s 5th birthday!
