Spring Time At Montessori
Spring is here at the Montessori Academy of Carrboro! All of the classes have been finishing up the school year and getting ready for our Summer Themes which are just around the corner.
The Toddler 1 class is busy working on independence. The children have been practicing putting their own jackets on using the flip-flop-over-top method. They have also been working on following directions and cleaning up after themselves. They’ve also been learning how to recognize their names, as well as learning their colors, shapes, and numbers.
The Toddler 2 class has finished up learning their ABCs. They are about to start learning colors, and after that shapes. They’ve been learning lots of different Sign Language signs. They’ve also had lots of fun learning about animals.
The CH 1-1 class has been learning their letters, shapes, and numbers. They’ve been working hard practicing using their listening ears and being kind to their friends. They recently had lots of fun celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with green slime!
The CH 1-2 class has been learning about letters J and K. They’ve been working on potty training and focusing on proper hand-washing techniques. They’ve been doing Montessori Work Cycle and working on art projects.
The CH 2-1 class has been celebrating Women’s History month. They have been learning about all of the important contributions women have made. They’ve also been learning about spring! They are planting flowers and learning about the importance of bees.
The CH 2-2 class has been learning about different animals, starting with birds. They have been working on their academic challenges and preparing for Kindergarten. They’ve been working together to assemble puzzles. And of course, they’ve been enjoying lots of Story Time with Ms. Maddy!
