As part of our Science studies about Spring,  we are making a pond for our wall.  By the time summer rolls around, the pond will be full of local creatures that we’ve studied.  We began with turtles.  In circle time our students were very excited to share all their turtle experiences from aquariums around the country to our own Eno River State Park.  We also read several books on turtles, added reptile and amphibian books to our class library and revisited our book on ponds. We constructed turtles for our ponds.  We made lists of other T and P words, creatures that live in and around ponds and worked with three letter words containing A again.  Our new favorite circle activity is singing The Itsy Bitsy Spider.
