Volcanoes and Vegetation

| March 2, 2016

What a crazy fun week! Our new friend Samuel has a real passion for volcanoes, earthquakes, and other major disasters so I got a bunch of like minded books from the library to learn as much as we could and then decided to build our own.

First step: Mix the Paper Mache

We also got to examine a hunk of obsidian (lava that has hardened) from Ms. Maddy’s dad’s collection and watch a video of real volcanoes erupted.

Obsidian is sooo cool!

Not that this week was all about natural disasters. We also took a moment to honor nature by creating trees from real vegetation.

Sadly we said good bye to our good friend Pouria who moved away last Friday. We love and will miss you!
